i got (and still am) allergy sick. the trees in my neighborhood are dropping pollen all over the place. my throat is so swollen. i sounded like a frog for a couple of days early in the week and then sounded completely nuts on iydcye and the dump truck. sorry if you listened to those and were like "wow they sound horrible". i sounded horrible.

i went to the doctor and they gave me liquid lidocaine, which i didn't know existed. i tried to take some and immediately threw up and every part of my mouth that wasn't the part that hurt was numb. an incredible product. thank you so much, hikma pharmeceuticals! it would make it very easy to [redacted] [redacted] though, so get to your local pharmacy if you're trying to get someone down your gullet.

i've now moved on to menthol (cc: jan) cough drops, which are kind of helping.

i've had so much tea. i just don't want to feel sick anymore. what do i do? i couldn't even get my head cut off and put onto a new body like in wolfenstein because the part of my throat that hurts would still be attached. what even is the point

this week i think i am going to make a video about the subaru outback – i started to write about it but i think i want more visual components than i can get in this format. but the gist of it is this: it is yet another sign of a failing society that the defacto family hauler of this generation has been transformed from a sedan based wagon to a bulky, militarized rectangle on wheels at the behest of literally no one. subaru has had an incredible run selling reliable budget vehicles with all wheel drive to queers and mainers and they've made a design decision that i think will push that core demo away in favor of trying to get conquest sales from people who would never consider the brand in the first place, because of the aforementioned queers and mainers. it's so silly. cars used to be so cool.

Look Back (4/19/25, los angeles, ca)

no one asked, but my two favorite sets from coachella this weekend (which i watched at home aka the best way to consume the most sanitized bacchanal this side of the mississip') were dj mustard and gustavo dudamel + the la phil. not like us hits still hits a year later. the la phil weekend 2 set had everything: there's an incredibly good violin solo piece, laufey, natasha bedingfield doing bad karaoke to her own incredibly popular song, ca7riel & paco amoroso walking out to the imperial march and then going completely sicko mode. it was so fun. if you scroll back far enough you can catch the la phil set here, for as long as the stream is up – but i think it'll go away and not get publically archived once the festival ends. why you can't access past coachella sets from the past on youtube or even hulu/paid youtube is beyond me. but it's not my job to point out money that people are leaving on the ground, as good at it as i'd be.

catch y'all next week!
