we've entered "let barley sit outside until she gets too hot and smells like fritos" season, which is a treat for me. i'm in the process of trying to better acclimate myself to warm weather by doing a few things, including:

  1. sitting directly in the sun
  2. sitting directly in the sun and drinking an beer (this one's hard because i am allergic to hops)
  3. turning on the ac/the fan(s) in the house in a reactionary way instead of a proactive way

i think it's working. i've been able to hang outside longer than barley in some cases, which was not the situation last year. in the time since last spring and now, i've also stopped taking the majority of the medicine that was making me especially heat sensitive, so hopefully by the time july rolls around i'm not passing out in the supporters section at bmo stadium. i used to know a person who swore by saltsticks but i've never tried the product myself.

twisted tree (4/6/25, somewhere outside of Zion, UT)

you know that sound you've been looking for? well listen to this!

this song is such a bop. it is sampled heavily on one of lil nas x's new tracks, light again!

he's performing at weho pride this year, which i called in my private circles weeks before the announcement. it made me feel very strong when i was proven correct. music rules.

finally, a little thing about video games: holy shit y'all seen marathon?????

i can't wait to be unbelievably bad at this game! the aesthetic of this is such a lovely progression from my favorite stuff in destiny. i hope bungie is back with this one because if they aren't then. well. you know.

i hope you caught the moon last night – it was big and bright. take a look at it tonight if you didn't catch it yesterday, ok? it's full and might just fix you if you let it.

same place next week,

niki
